Oversized Transport Permits

A special permit is required when a vehicle and its load exceed standard dimensions (length >20 m, width >2.55 m, height >4 m, or gross weight >40 t). In Estonia, permits are issued by Maanteeamet.

We manage the entire process: submitting the application, agreeing the route, paying fees and collecting the permit. Processing typically takes 3–10 working days depending on the country and route complexity.

What counts as an oversized load?
A load is considered oversized when, together with the vehicle, it exceeds the standard limits: width 2.55 m, height 4.0 m, length 20 m or gross weight 40 t. A special permit from Maanteeamet is required for such shipments.
How long does it take to obtain a permit?
Timescales depend on the country and route complexity. In Estonia, typically 3–5 working days. For multi-country transit, 7–14 days. We begin the permit process as soon as we receive the technical brief.
Do you carry out international oversized transport?
Yes. We run services across the EU — Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Finland, Sweden and more. CIS shipments can be arranged on request.
Is a police escort mandatory?
Escort requirements depend on the specific dimensions and the country. We take care of the entire escort arrangement — from coordinating with the police to providing physical escort vehicles on the route.
How is the cargo insured?
All loads are covered for their full declared value. We work with leading insurance partners and can provide a policy certificate before departure on request.
